Partnership with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA)

The International Technical Cooperation Project “Access and Use of Electric Energy as a Factor for the Development of Communities in the Brazilian Rural Environment” (BRA/IICA/09/001) was signed in March 2009 with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), with the intervention of the Brazilian Cooperation Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The term of the project ended in 2018.

The execution of the Technical Cooperation Project, through the hiring of national and international consultancies, allowed the carrying out of studies and research, the preparation of technical reports, the development of computational tools, the support to pilot projects and the realization of training and technical workshops, promoting the transfer of knowledge and the development of solutions for the implementation of rural electrification programs.

The work developed has strengthened our participation in seminars, public hearings and in the main debates dealing with technical and regulatory aspects related to renewable energy sources for serving rural communities, as well as our actions in promoting the integrated and sustainable development of communities through the implementation of Community Production Centers (Centros Comunitários de Produção - CCP), which facilitate the production, processing and commercialization of local products.
